The Vision

Everybody dreams, some about fast cars, some about big houses, mine…can I make it? I remember when I was at junior school and the teacher asked us what we wanted to be, some firemen, some policemen, could I get away with athlete? I figured pilot would be a far safer choice! Well twenty years later and I’ve finally plucked up the courage to put my soul on the line and go for broke; do I have what it takes to make it as a professional triathlete? Some people say that when you compete in triathlons you expose yourself; you bare your soul until that is all that is left. What does your soul say about you? What will mine say when its crunch time?

Over my time in triathlon I have mainly competed at age group level struggling to balance my career with my training and recovery time. I have achieved some good performances over the years though winning the national junior middle distance championships in 1997 and finishing second in the 220 and BTA national ranking series in 2003. The problem is, like most athletes, instead being able to just accept these as good results I have always challenged them with a “what if…” My objective now is to eliminate the ifs of better prepared, completely rested and singularly focused. I am dedicating the coming years of my life to the sport of Triathlon. What do you think my soul will say when the time comes?

The personal financial and emotional costs for the lifestyle change have been massive but right now my body and soul are up for the challenge of the biggest race in the world…chasing the dream!

Please follow my progress though this website and I ask you that as sponsors come on board follow the links through to their sites as without them this dream would be all the more expensive. Enjoy the site and see you at the races!
